Couriguer Fecit 32 x 24 cm at sight Provenance: Model's family, then by descent Note: Joseph Antoine Couriguer, a wax relief worker in Paris (cited as early as 1784 as working for the Duc d'Orléans), was part of an exceptional dynasty of wax sculptors and modelers active in the 18th and 19th centuries. They originated from Einsiedeln in German-speaking Switzerland, and in France adopted the phonetic equivalent of their name, Couriguer or Couriger.
