PARIS, circa 1760, reminiscent of the work of Pierre ROUSSEL (1723–1782).
A large half-moon-shaped chest of drawers made of curly-grained veneer set within alternating fillet frames.
It is adorned with rich marquetry at the ends and on the front, featuring vases with flowers on checkered entablatures and a draped musical trophy.
It opens with two drawers without crossbars, framed by sides with simulated fluting, and rests on four sheathed legs with delicate clasp decoration against a background of olive wood veneer.
Gilded bronze ornamentation adorns the side panels, lock openings, pull rings, and feet.
The top is made of veined gray marble with a cavetto molding.
