PARISIAN WORK, circa 1740. Sloping desk with all sides veneered in rosewood, opening via a leather-trimmed flap to reveal a niche above three drawers and a secret compartment. It rests on four curved legs. Louis XV period Gilded bronze hardware on the lock plates, drawer pulls, and feet. Height: 90.5 cm Width: 81 cm Depth: 44 cm Restorations and minor veneer losses.
