A "Capuchin-style" desk with a mahogany and mahogany veneer - Lot 84
A "Capuchin-style" desk with a mahogany and mahogany veneer top featuring an undulating design. The flap, upholstered in green leather and decorated with a gilded frieze in fine metalwork, reveals a retractable shelf containing a niche, a compartment, and two drawers, as well as two compartments for ink and quills. It rests on four curved legs. Date: second half of the 18th century. Height: 71 cm Width: 64 cm Depth: 49 cm Normal wear and tear. Provenance: Yvonne Printemps Collection, purchased at the 1986 Biennale and delivered to Passy in the 16th arrondissement.
