JAPAN - Edo period (1603-1868). Samurai wakizashi. Simple Kashira in patinated copper, fushi in chased, patinated, silvered and gilded copper depicting a bird on a cherry branch. Wooden tsuka covered with ray skin and black silk braid. Chased, patinated and gilded copper menukis featuring poppy branches. Kozuka in chased, patinated and gilded copper featuring a shishi and peonies on a nanako background, blade signed. Straight blade, hamon regular, straight and well marked, tang with one hole, unsigned. Dimensions: 71 x 7 x 6 cm. cm. Blade length with tang: 64 cm. Slight wear
