JAPAN - Late Edo Period (1603-1868). Samurai katana. Wooden tsuka covered with black-tinted ray skin, braided with green-tinted leather, chased and patinated copper menukis depicting weapons. Saya in wood covered with textured brown lacquer. Straight blade, regular hamon, tang with two holes, signed on both sides. Blade length with tang: 89.9 cm. Length of cutting edge: 70.3 cm. Curvature (sori): 2.2 cm. Oxidation marks on blade.
