Large wool velvet Tabriz on cotton foundation. Ruby-red field decorated with polychrome stylized garlands of palmettes, flowers and foliage, adorned with a central sky-blue floral medallion in the shape of a stylized diamond.
Four ivory spandrels with motifs echoing the central medallion.
Five borders, the main one navy blue, decorated with rows of floral bulbs in the form of stylized turtle shells encircled by fine ring-shaped crenellated stems.
Circa 1970.
