In-12, first edition illustrated with an engraved frontispiece. Bound in full contemporary olive morocco, with triple filleted boards, bearing the coat of arms of Louis XIV, 5-ribbed spine. Ex-libris from the library of the French Ambassador and the Vicomtesse de Fontenay. Provenance: Bibliothèque du Duc de Vendôme and Baron Pichon (?). A present copy offered to King Louis XIV, enriched with a letter from the Giraud-Badin bookshop concerning the work.
