Important MÉCHED AMOGLI rug (Persia), late 19th century, early 20th century Dimensions: 515 x 340 cm. Technical specifications: Wool pile on a cotton backing. An anthracite-colored field features a lush botanical design with a “mosaic-like” appearance. Twining branches, floral rosettes, cruciform flowers, leaves, and small blossoms form this intricate “botanical carpet.” Six polychrome outer borders frame the main fuchsia border; all seven feature multicolored floral garlands.
