Important Savonnerie-style rug (France), early 20th century Dimensions: 390 x 275 cm. Technical specifications: Wool pile on a cotton backing. In good overall condition. A ruby-red field featuring a pink floral latticework pattern, set with small ivory-colored flowers, is enclosed by an old-gold figurative molded frame with a wide ruby-red border adorned with a garland of undulating multicolored acanthus leaves. Each corner is embellished with a circular medallion featuring a basket of polychrome flowers. A beautiful piece in the Directoire style.
