Note: A student of Jacques-Louis David, Claude-Marie Dubufe is best known for his portraits of high society during the Restoration and the July Monarchy. He exhibited regularly at the Salon beginning in 1819. His paintings are distinguished by their elegance, the delicacy of the faces, and the attention to detail in the costumes and fabrics.
