DUTCH SCHOOL, late 17th or early 18th century, after Willem - Lot 457
DUTCH SCHOOL, late 17th or early 18th century, after Willem VAN MIERIS (1662–1747) Man Drinking in an Interior. Oil on panel. Height: 29 cm Width: 24 cm Note: “(…) this painting is an important example of an original by the artist dated 1668; the original is not currently located, but other versions exist that are of much lower quality than this painting, sometimes reworked to fit within a niche (New York auction, January 30, 2013), which attest to the popularity of the motif, also known from engravings.”
