17th-century FLORENTINE SCHOOL, circle of Justus SUSTERMANS (1597–1681) Portrait of a Woman in a Black Dress Canvas Height: 203 cm Width: 115 cm Previous restorations Substantial carved and gilded wooden frame with rich decoration featuring a ribboned acanthus and foliage frieze and leaf-motif interlacing on an amati background. Italy, early 17th century. We would like to thank Mr. François LACHAUD, an expert in old frames at the Paris Court of Appeals, for confirming the dating and geographical origin of this frame.
