JAPAN - Edo Period (1603–1868). Samurai Yari Spear. Long wooden shaft; the lower quarter is adorned with a braided cord ferrule and features ringed brown lacquer. Slightly curved “Ho” spear blade, single-edged with a small groove; it is protected by a lacquered saya. Dimensions: 252 x 4 x 4 cm. Length from tip to tang: 36.5 cm.
