Ricar GUINO I BOIX known as "Richard Guino" (1890-1973) - Lot 256
Ricar GUINO I BOIX known as "Richard Guino" (1890-1973) Nymph and marine divinity Between 1913 and 1918 Sanguine on beige laid paper Height Height : 52 cm Width : 37 cm Small restored chips in the bottom corners, slight horizontal fold. Note: After a stint in Maillol's studio in 1910, Richard Guino quickly caught the eye of art dealer Ambroise Vollard, who in 1913 directed him to Auguste Renoir to turn the latter's works into sculptures. Under the painter's guidance, he produced numerous sculptures, including the famous Vénus Vitrix and the Grande Baigneuse, which exalt feminine sensuality and testify to the perfect artistic communion that had developed between the two artists. This collaboration ceased in 1918, and this large unpublished sanguine bears witness to both Renoir's osmosis and his influence on Guino's graphic art.
