A post-war master of engraved glass, trained with the glassmaker Schwartz, he belongs to the same generation as Pierre Lardin and Max Ingrand. In 1956, in collaboration with designer André Grozdanovitch, he created a monumental engraved glass mirror for the hall of the Théâtre municipal in Poitiers, one of the major monumental glass works of the period. He also worked with great decorators such as Jean Pascaud, Jules Leleu and Marc du Plantier, as well as master metalworkers like Gilbert Poillerat, Raymond Subes and René Drouet. He takes part in the decorations for the liner France, where his style combines modernity with references to Antiquity through engraved and eglomized motifs. His technique is based on sandblast engraving and the application of colors that evolve with the patina and oxidation of silver and gold leaf.
