Henri FOREAU (1866-1938) - Lot 330
Henri FOREAU (1866-1938) Four clearing landscapes. Watercolor and pencil on paper. Signed. H. 10 x L. 14 cm (at sight) for each. Bibliography: Born in 1866 and died in 1938 in Paris, Henri FOREAU was a pupil of Jules LEFEBVRE, Henry LEVY, Luc-Olivier MERSON and above all Henri HARPIGNIES, of whom he was to become a close friend. Although he used a variety of techniques - oil, drawing - it was in watercolor that he gave his fullest expression, notably through his three main themes: the French countryside, parks and gardens, Paris and the Paris region.
