WE, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire - Lot 410
WE, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire Dance mask featuring a surrealistic face with striking, powerful expressiveness. The forehead and upper part of the face form a compact, continuous mass, bristling with pointed horns, evoking protections or supernatural forces. The absence of eyes, the barely sketched nose and the wide, half-open mouth with protruding teeth give the whole a primitive, disquieting dimension. Wood, earth amalgams, leftover natural pink pigments, plant fibers, horns, leather, hair and horsehair. Height Height : 39 cm
