H. 83 cm This pole, acting as a sentinel, embodies the guarantee of order and harmony in Fon traditions. Botchio" (or "Bocio"), characteristic of the Fon of Benin, are carved from the branches of specific trees, such as the roco or loco, considered mythical and endowed with protective powers.
