GILLE LAINÉ in PARIS (Pierre Gille dit Gille l'Aîné, Master in 1779) Chased and gilded bronze "chariot" clock. The oval base with attributes of love rests on four small spinning top feet and is topped by a figure of Cupid seated on his chariot holding the reins of a sheep. The chariot wheel contains the movement with a white enameled dial with Roman numerals and chemin de fer minute track. Rooster movement signed Gilles Lainé. Empire period. Height : 17,4 Width : 17.6 Depth : 7 cm. Movement to be overhauled, missing hands and minor gilding wear.
