Note:
Charles Topino (circa 1742-1803), probably originally from Arras, began his career as a free laborer in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, before being received as a master in 1773. In 1782, he became a deputy of the guild. He is best known for his light furniture decorated with refined marquetry: teapots, books, inkwells, Chinese-inspired vases and floral motifs. His clientele ranged from the nobility to renowned cabinetmakers such as Migeon, Boudin and Delorme.
