Provenance: Estate of Mrs. Simonetta Colonna di Cesarò (1922-2011) Italian fashion designer Rougena Zátková (1885 - Leysin) was a Czech painter and sculptor, and a member of Futurism. Originally from Bohemia, she moved to Rome at the turn of the century. She was a pupil of Giacomo Balla. A versatile artist, she devoted herself to transformable pictorial constructions and "multi-material" sculptures. Her work serves as a link between Futurism, Suprematism and Russian Constructivism. Her portrait of Marinetti is famous. She died of tuberculosis in 1923 at the age of 38. This icon was donated for the birth of Simonetta Colonna di Cesarò in Rome in 1922.
