FRENCH COLLECTION, late 17th century, in the style of Philippe de Champaigne Portrait of Jeanne de Valois Oil on canvas H. 74 x L. 60 cm In a very fine 18th century carved wood frame. (Faded). Accompanied by a white lacquered sheet metal panel forming a cartel on which is inscribed: "Jeanne de Valois, Daughter of Louis XI, born at Nogent le Roi on April 23, 1464. Married to Louis XII, September 8, 1746, died February 4, 1505. Foundress of the Annonciade order in Bourges in the late 15th century. In 1554, 4 nuns from Bourges founded the Annonciade de Ligny en Barros".
