JAPAN, EDO period Cabinet in gold lacquer on a black background, with elaborate hardware. The two front doors reveal a series of eight drawers in five rows. Cracked varnish on the outside. Dealer's label "Gleizes fils". Work of the 18th century. H. 59 cm ; W. 68 cm ; D. 42 cm. Provenance: Estate of M. Paul HORN (1879-1959). Architect, patron and promoter of L'AUBETTE in Strasbourg. He entrusted the decor of his building to THEO VAN DOESBURG, JEAN ARP and SOPHIE TAUEBER-ARP.
