Surroundings by PERRET & VIBERT - Maison des bambous Rare and beautiful floor lamp The plant-like shaft in brown patina bronze supports a Chinese stoneware openwork saddle on a sinister base. Probably Parisian quality work from the late 19th century. Height to socket 153 cm Note: Perret & Vibert took the name "Maison des Bambous" in the early 1890s. During the Second Empire and Belle-Epoque, it became known for its luxury furniture with oriental and exotic shapes and decorations, sold to a wealthy clientele for their winter gardens. Our floor lamp combines a taste for Art Nouveau plants with a passion for Chinese and Japanese-inspired furniture from the late 19th century. A highly decorative object, it bears witness to the taste for the Far East created by great ornamentalists, artists and furniture makers such as Edouard Lièvre and Gabriel Viardot.
